Management company calling me for tenant questions

Hello, my tenants are in the process of applying for another house. When the landlord or management company calls me to get a reference on my tenant what are dos and donts?

 Just be straight up with them and be honest, the way you would want if you were in the other person's shoes. Also, don't get into gossip, just give the info and that is it.
