Prospective tenants application
On my application I request 7 years of employment and residence history, do credit, criminal, eviction, bank deposit verification. I also ask several questions, such as, a need for special accommodation and whether they agree to add me as an additional interest on Renter's policy. I do use third party services to run these checks. In the past people who were interested never had problems with these. Prior to showing a property I forward them a questionnaire so I do not have to waste my time on showing to those who do not qualify. So my pool of potential renters is usually well vetted and small and I am ok with this. However, recently I started experiencing some push back even out of my small pool of candidates . People who express interest want to check on my requirements before they apply. Somehow I have a suspicion that some of them might have something to hide. Have you experienced higher incidence of these occurrences recently?

7 years of work & residency histories is a bit extreme.
Mortgage lenders only ask for the last 2 years, same with most landlords.
So, you may want to lower your 7 years to the more common 2 years.
