garbage disposer can start a fight!
I posted about one property that seem to have chronic kitchen drain backup problems. Four months into a new lease I have been there three times already.
Not a big deal, its usually on the trap arm and not in the main line.
I have to go measure the window dimensions for hurricane panels and replace the ac filter anyways.
The wife was home.
I tested the drains, the left side with the garbage disposer backed up, the right side drain has no issue. So this is an easy one.
I cleared all the junk from the sink cabinet out so they don't get wet when I take the trap assembly apart. Put a bucket under and disassembled the tail piece coming off the disposer.
I then disconnected the other end and in between its totally jammed up by something. I used a stick to push the mess out and it looks like some sort of seaweed twisted together in a big bunch completely clogged up the 1-1/2" pipe. I then showed it to her and told her to not put this into the disposer again.
She took a look and said that's her seaweed salad. Then she immediately turned around and called her husband and screamed at him over the phone "...YOU THREW AWAY THE SEAWEED SALAD I MADE FOR YOU!...yes you DID...its what's clogging the kitchen sink...I have a picture if it...no its not left overs its the whole salad you put down there...its good 4 you...how long have you been throwing away your lunches? The kitchen clogged several times...WE NEED TO TALK!"
