Should I gut this room?

I have a nice house which I have pictured below.  One of the rooms is covered in wood like you would see in a northern cabin.  It will be a lot of work to take it out, so I am wondering what you all think.  It really does not go with the rest of the house.

I say paint it white...makes huge difference.

Also, you might not like what's under the paneling.
