In another post someone mentioned doing a home visit with prospective tenants to see how they treat the house/apartment they live in.

Has anyone had experience doing this and is it worth it?  Tips?

I have never visited their home. But, paid close attention to the interactions with the spouse and children during the showing of the property and interview.

Believe it or not, you learn a lot from these meetings that will help with your decision to rent to them or not.
