Section 8 Legal Source of Income

I've heard recently that the town I own rentals in (Marion, IA) is saying that section 8 is a "legal source of income"  and that you can't say outright "no section 8", etc in your ads.

I don't like the idea of being essentially forced into taking section 8 tenants or even having to do a bunch of showings/applications when I'm not even signed up for the program.  

Anybody in Iowa or elsewhere have any experience/info with this kind of thing?
