Do they make furnaces that work on weekends?

Question

I would pay double for an HVAC system (plumbing too, for that matter) that is guaranteed to never break down on weekends. I think like 99.5% of my HVAC and plumbing service call requests at rentals occur from 5:01 PM on Fridays to 11:59 PM on Sundays.

That must mean you have tenants that are at work during the day which I would consider a huge positive.  At least they are letting you know of the issues before they become more costly as well.  Could be much worse :)

As a summer job during college, I used to sell appliance parts by answering a 1-800 number.  From that, I developed a theory that no healthy young person ever experienced a failure of their refrigerator or window A/C during the summer.  Only little old nuns on Social Security, that were also taking care of 4 orphaned children, had such problems, which is why the caller really needed me to give them free next-day air shipping on a 25-pound compressor.

Here's a tip for you.  In the future store 2-3 extra radiator heaters at your house.  If the furnace goes out you can still provide heat to your residents until it gets repaired.    Tenants always apprieate the guesture and it could save you a weekend service call.   Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.  Good luck.

Yes, definitely better than the alternative of sitting at home all day with no job. :)Just would be nice not to have to pay HVAC/Plumbing contractors weekend rates!
