Are your raising your rent on your tenants this year? What percentages do you use or what other factors drive your rent increases?

Hi Emily

It all depends what is going on in the market.  Rents have been increasing the past few years.  Check to see what the competition is doing if you want to raise.  Your expenses, such as taxes and operating expenses increase.  If you decide not to increase rents for several years, you will be losing value on your asset.

Remember, if the market begins to decrease, tenants will expect you to lower rents.
