Eviction over a Facebook review?

Hello BP. My lady is a living in an apartment complex in Chandler AZ. The management is terrible and I hear about one issue after another after another. The laziness of the place bugged me as well as I visited often enough. Since she doesn't have a Facebook I decided to leave a negative but truthful review on their Facebook page.
They had the audacity to actually call her in to the office and demand I take down the comment. They said they would charge her an extra $75 a month as if I was a resident and even mentioned things about eviction.

Real or empty threats?

@Dovid Staples I had an issue with the manager here, who is going away at the end of the month - yayyyyyy!  LOL.  Anyway, she'd want to talk to me about things in person, but then would tell a different story to the owner.  Now I only deal with her in writing, and miraculously, all the baloney stopped.  What I started doing, was immediately writing up a summary of what just happened in person, and sending a copy to the owner.

You honeypie could do that.

Dear Manager & Property Owner,

I just wanted to recap what you said to me today in the office, to be sure I understood you correctly.  Blah blah.  Let me know if I have everything correct or if I've left anything out, as I want to run it by my lawyer.  Please respond by tomorrow end of day.  And please forward a copy of this email to the property owner, as I want to be sure we are all on the same page.

Have her tell them to put their requests in writing, so she can run it by her lawyer.

If they continue to demand fees they aren't owed, or try to evict anybody, it would be quite easy to take them to court. It's also not legal to demand people to remove facebook reviews. Yes, I've been to court several times, and I always win...

One time, I was actually sued for leaving a bad review of a business online. I won money that time also...

I suggest you tell them the upcoming lawsuit will be much more expensive than any extra fee they think they might have lost. You owe them nothing, they are in the wrong. Take them to court if they do anything else. The threats will likely stop them before they get anywhere.

Based on what you have written I do not understand why she is still living there. Nothing worse for a landlord than unhappy tenants. Rather than complain just move. That is the luxury of being a tenant. you can live anywhere. Tell her to move.

And stay off of face book.

What do you base this on? Take them to court... on what? I get the sense you've never been to court.

Until the OP (or whoever is on the lease) is served with eviction, there is nothing but emotion.

@tracy Dydney, I was actually very careful not to claim to be a resident or use any wording that would indicate I was talking about my own apartment. And I definitely do not live there.
