I need advice about a rental situation

I live in a townhouse complex and I've been renting here since June of 2007. There are pets in the complex but owners are required to pick up and dispose of waste properly. Since the day I moved in I have complained and complained about my neighbors not doing so.

We have a small back patio, and directly off of the patio is a small hill... the bottom of this hill is maybe 15 feet from the edge of the patio platform and in the spring (now) it is somewhat flooded down there.

My neighbors have a large black lab. They clean up their dog's "poo" by flinging it down the hill with a shovel. I have complained not only about them NOT cleaning it up, but I have also complained that they just "move it" to the bottom of this hill which totally makes this area unusable for play by my children.

Not only that... it's just discusting, there's a cesspool of dog feces right outside my window. In warm weather the smell is unbareable and the flies are uncontrollable.

Im tired of complaining as it's not doing any good.

What can I do? Our lease is not up until July and I cant stay here any longer... we're all sick and though it may not have anything to do with this issue, but Im concerned that it may.

Hi, as P NW mentioned, call your local health department. This is a bio hazard in a significant amount.. Having owned labs in the past, you probably have a significant amount! Lean on the health department and they will issue a citation, maybe your neighbor will get the idea. Good Luck, Bill
