Refinishing bath tubs - do it yourself?

I have 2 bathtubs in a rental that need to be re-finished.  The house is about 30 years old so obviously some wear and tear.   Is this something you have done yourself?

If you've paid someone, what was the all in cost?

If you are going to continue to rent the property have it professionally done. Generally it comes with a 5 year warranty against the glaze peeling or coming off. DIY kits usually only last about 6 months or so before it starts peeling. I have been refinishing tubs in Hawaii for over 20 years and have had many customers try to do it themselves with bad long term results. Average cost to refinish or reglaze a bathtub over here is $350.
To strip and repair a peeling tub is $450.
