Help. Tenant surrendering keys but leaving items behind

Hey all, First off I am in New York I have a tenant who broke up with her boyfriend. They both are on the month to month lease . The boyfriend has moved to another state and she is the only remaining tenant in the area. She has taken everything of hers from the property and he has taken most of his things . She is surrendering the keys to me tomorrow and also signing a form stating she and he are surrendering the apartment . The concern I have is that he will not be available to sign and they left some clothes and other random low value items behind. Does anyone know if this is a major concern ? Do I have to house the items or am I not even supposed to do anything and serve a formal eviction ? Any insight would help .

Ask her what the ex-boyfriend wants to do with his things.   If you're worried about this, find out if she knows his new address, contact him and tell him he has 30 days to get his junk.

Tenants ALWAYS leave stuff behind.  Frankly, if it were me, I'd toss the stuff and, if later questioned, say the unit was empty when I got it back...but Georgia tends to be a very landlord friendly state.
