Tenant gave 30 day notice, I'm not sure what to expect

I purchased a 3 flat building at the end of April. There was already tenants residing in two of the units and they were month to month, My husband and I decided to occupy the third unit and everything was going smoothly, until we received a text from one of the tenants that she can no longer afford the rent and is giving her 30 day notice. Both tenants are section 8. I'm not sure what to expect at this point. since she gave notice on the third does that mean I should expect  her out by the the third? I want to start showing the apartment to get a new renter in but don't know when she will be out. Does section 8 have to inspect the unit before she moves? If I find another section 8 tenant what do I have to do as far as section 8 notice is concerned? Any help would be appreciated

Replied

So basically she gave improper notice.. send her a form stating just that and you can either accept it or you can say her notice will be accepted with move out date for July 31st and she is still responsible for rent for the months of June and July.

You will need to contact her Sec 8 worker..

Notice for month to month is due prior to the 1st of the month so she would have needed to submit notice to vacate by May 31 to end tenancy June 30.
