Tenant manufacturing drugs

I have a SFR rental managed by a PM. I got a call from detective that they searched the prop on suspicion of drugs being manufactured there. They asked if I knew whereabouts of tenants. I referred the detective to the PM. Since then, PM has changed locks and started to clean out the property of all debris hazmat left. When I spoke to PM, I learned house has not been inspected for over a yr, because tenant would usually give an excuse like "baby just went to sleep," etc. Even if PM couldn't go inside the house, just by looking at the new electrical system the tenant installed outside in plain view, it would have been obvious something was amiss. Also, I have since learned that the tenant has a previous criminal record which should have been reason not to rent to this tenant. Is the PM liable for any damages? Also, separate question, tenant expressed a desire to return to the home and said they still have the lease. The locks have been changed. Am I correct in thinking they already broke the lease bec of the criminal activity?
