Stackable washer and dryers or laundry centers

I have a quad that I purchased that has 4 laundry centers in them. All appear to be fine except for one

I paid a guy to come out last year to fix a slow drain and it was over $300 and it's doing the same thing a year later. The way I have always in the past viewed appliances as repair once and then replace as the replacement is not that much more expensive.

The laundry centers start at $1200 yet I can get individual stackables that look much better for $500 a piece. Is there any reason people are still paying more for the laundry centers where if one unit fails you have to pay hundreds or have to replace the entire washer/dryer combo?

Looking at your numbers I think the stackables sound like a good idea.
