Can a Tenant Stop Me From Hiring a Property Manager?

Hello I have a property in Oklahoma.  I would like to hire a property manager for a lease I have already signed between myself and the tenant.  I can't find anything that specifies I can or can not hire a property manager of my choosing.  Is there anyone who knows specifically?

No renter is perfect,, all will most likely have some issue from time to time a landlord has to put up with..

Know your rights and obligations as a landlord and understand business is just that your not his friend,, he's not your friend.. He will either comply with the lease and it's terms or you will write up a lease infraction and with that either see if he complies or not.. if he doesn't you give him notice that his actions are putting his housing in jeopardy he needs to comply or simply file for cause.. least violation.  Mutual lease terminations are good option.

Written notices to enter for work, 24 hours in advance unless emergency.. posted on the door.

Written notices for any late rents, lease violations, ect. post on the door.

Photos if necessary, if he verbally threaten you, while you are at the property, call police immediately so they respond and can take a report. so you have it documented.

Mark, as others have stated, you own the property and can hire whomever you want to fulfill your obligations as outlined in the agreement.  The agreement is the key.  You can't change the terms of the agreement, but you can change how you fulfill them

Does your lease contain language that specifically prohibits you from hiring a property manager? Probably not.

I'm not a lawyer in Oklahoma, or any where else.  But, you own the property.  You can hire whoever you want to manage, inspect, repair etc etc.  You do have to follow state rules regarding giving notice to tenant to enter building, etc.  Hire a property manager.

The tenant hasn't said that yet but I fear he will.  He has become challenging and believe it would be best for both of us to transition to an intermediate party.
