what to do after you purchase a rental property

How do you go about getting a unit or a home rented? I understand an agent can handle this but from what I have heard they will charge 1 months rent for finding a tenant. How can an investor find a tenant without an agent? How do you get a document or lease for them to sign? I have learned a lot about analyzing deals but do not know much about being a landlord.

Run - don’t walk, and buy the bigger pockets Managing Rentals book. It was the best book I’ve read that covers 80% of everything you need to know.

I personally have had good experience with listing on Zillow, which then pushes to other sites too. Take good pictures and price the rental well and you’ll have no trouble finding tenants.

Picking the right tenants - that’s for another post. :)
