Annual Reports for LLCs of Property Management Clients?

Question

I run a property management company.

I have a client that recently forwarded a notice from the secretary of the state for them to file annual reports on each of their LLCs, (like 16 of them).

I have already provided them annual reports.

I've never had any of my other clients send this to me.

Am I missing something?  Are they out of line. I agreed to handle their properties, not their LLCs.... thoughts?  feedback?

Thank you Ryan and Scott  for the data - I  had never heard of it being a property management function - wasn't sure if I was missing the loop on something there or not.

it’s  a revenue source for the state, and not a PM function, thebentity may own properties that you do not manage or operate a business you are not involved in at all

@Naomi Freeman Not a typical PM function but I have done it for clients on rare occasions. It's a judgement call on your part. With 16 LLC's it sounds like a pretty sizable client. Is it worth the extra time spent on your part to keep them satisfied?

Is the notice to complete the annual registration for the invidivdual LLCs?  I think Wisconsin here it is called "File Annual Report".  The owner goes online and answers about 12 questions, nothing to do with finances.  All questions about the operation of the LLCs.

I do not do these for my property management clients.  Nor should you I think.  It should be the owner or their attorney.
