Bad Renters in Neighborhood

Hi guys,

I live in a nice neighborhood but unfortunately some people started renting a home near us and it has gotten really bad.

People are living in the garage and inside the home and there is nearly 10 cars on the street including our space in front of our house. Loud music playing at all times from their cars parked outside at all hours of the day including night. I can go on with other problems they are causing but im looking for a solution.

I went to the police but they can only do so much according to them. The next step im thinking about taking is calling the property management directly to let them know their renters are a nuisance in the neighborhood. If that doesnt work i was thinking of filing a complaint with the BBB on the company to make them correct the situation some how.

Any suggestions on what can be done? We also have an HOA if that helps.

Thank you

@Kenny Oliver promise me that you will only use the following techniques if you are truly in a desperate situation.

1. Read your HOA master deed rules/restrictions/covenants and identify what rules the homeowner is breaking. Write a letter to the HOA board and let them know the home at 123 main st is breaking the following rules and should be fined. Figure out who on the board is a stickler for enforcing rules and call them to follow up.

2. Read your city, county or local jurisdiction home owner laws/rules to identify what they are failing to follow (lawn maintenance or trash up keep are common). Call the city and inform them 123 main st is breaking the rules and you need to file a formal complaint.

3. Call the fire marshal and say "people could die if there is a fire in this subdivision because house 123 main st has 10 cars blocking the road and one in front of the hydrant".

4. Call the health department and say "someone might die due to heat exhaustion because house 123 main st has people living in the garage".

5. Repeat steps 1-4 until resolution.

Good Luck.
