Landlording in Portland, OR

Hey everyone, I'm an agent in Portland, OR and I have a buyer purchasing a home in Clackamas county, Milwaukie area, that he is hoping to rent out the basement. There is a concern about the ceiling height in the basement not being high enough given how old the home is. Anyone know what the minimum requirement is for ceiling height in this scenario as a landlord providing a habitable space for a tenant?

Thanks!

I am thinking it only has to do with loans and building permits.

I don't think PDX or any of the cities have CO inspections for landlords..

like other markets.. might be an issue with a section 8 if they do the inspections though

I would for liability purposes not rent a basement that does not have some form of ingress egress to the outside other than the stairs.. I put one of those in my basement in lake O.. but its a secondary access.

I think this is more important in practical terms than a 7 ft or 8 ft ceiling..

@Account Closed  might now better than me  she is a landlord in the area and keeps up on the rules
