Right now I am renting but I have a scumlord that does nothing. If I have to I will see him cause he does nothing

Scumlord .. Hey now !! I prefer the term affordable housing manager ! Look Your not a tree ,you can always move if the guy is a dirtbag and mismanages his property

I'm really working hard here to figure out agency, causation, and vision in the above. The first sentence states the lack of action on the part of the scumlord in apposition to renting, which is being carried out in the progressive present. I can make the words make sense here, at least. There is some sort of unhappiness with the state of things as they are. But when we go to the second sentence, the conditional, we have necessity ("if I have to"), perhaps an arrangement of a meeting ("I will see him"), and a reason ("he does nothing"). I can read the words on the screen but I can't find even the illusion of coherency within what they posit. It's a pithy exercise in gobbledygook, it really is. Finnegans Wake, perhaps not. But it's something.

you dont need a lawyer, just look up your tenant rights in your state and follow them, if landlord messes up even 1 of those rights you are eligible to move out and receive your deposit back although you most likely wont get it so look into filing with the courts the process and the cost and be prepared have DOCUMENTATION of everything! good luck

@Linda Lape what are you asking the landlord to do? If it affect the habitability of the home, I would contact a lawyer, and you can probably hold your rent in escrow until the matter it resolved. If it is things that are more of a convenience, you may not have much recourse. Or, of course, you could move.

Scumlords always prove they will not fix anything. That will not change. Save yourself any more aggrevation and move.

If it was me personally and I have asked for something to be repaired and it was not I will start documenting. The next thing that I would do is figure out how to withhold the rent so that the repairs will be made.
