Domestic Violence between Tenants

We were notified that there was a domestic violence incident between our tenants.  Tenants share an apartment.  Guy was arrested and released and has a court date.  Girl has moved out and is living with her sister.  We are first time landlords and a bit lost as to how to proceed with the security deposit. Do we do a move-out inspection with her?  Is she entitled to half the security deposit?  Both girl and guy were on the lease.  Thank you for your help!

It is not your problem. Leave it to the two of them to work it out and inform you of their decisions. You do not return any deposit unless they both move out. The full deposit remains with you and they work it out between themselves.

I would not approach them on this matter, let them contact you first. Until then nothing has changed regarding the lease and it is none of your business.
