FCRA -- tenant credit reports
I was notified the the company that I get credit reports through that now the customers will have to comply with the new FCRA rules if we want to continue getting full reports (instead of a scored pass/fail) system. In addition to the onsite inspection, one of the requirements is that you have a separate phone number used exclusively for business.
Right now I use my own cell phone. I do not want to have to pay an extra $30 per month (or whatever) and carry an extra cell phone just to comply with this rule. Is there any way around this? I looked into GoogleVoice but it appears to create one number for all of your phones, instead of an additional phone number.

Google voice does give you a separate number - then you can just have it forward to your current phone. So you would have a "business only" phone number. You can set it so that calls coming in from the google voice number show that number and not the actual caller's name. The voicemail is also different, it doesn't go to your phone's voicemail it goes to google voicemail.
I have one that I use for running ads on craigslist, when that number pops up I can tell it's craigslist call and not a current client or tenant. Very useful.
