Oil Tank Gauge

I enrolled in the program for the oil delivery. Last year the gauge was full . After using, I ordered the oil with 1/4 full oil tank According to the contract , less than 150 gallon delivery, it will qualify for the whole sale price which is $0.25 difference. Total is $37. I inclined to overlook something. I am wondering whether ....

I got the delivery with 148 gallon and I checked my oil tank gauge is 6/8. I suspected the oil company or driver .... since the oil company consistently has best price for the oil and over the internet, I saw it has three reviews. All the three reviewer has only one review. I called the oil company and questioned. They stated the oil tank gauge might be out of order. I am not aware of that oil gauge is fragile. I am an engineer. The mechanic of the oil gauge is quite simple for me. Should not have the much problem but I will like to know my assumption is right .

Please chime in so I can learn more about that.
