Eviction of a tenant

Hey guys I'm from Quebec and am dealing with my first Eviction, my situation is we are doing a major reno and had to give 3 month notice for eviction as we are also repossessing the unit when reno is complete. The tenent would not accept the notice or sign it, we had to make a claim with Regie du logment and recieved a courtdate, the new situation is the tenents wants us to sign a form agreeing to change the court date as his principal witness is not able to make that date. I believe this is a tactic to delay the eviction and ruin our renovation plans

It does indeed look like delay tactics. Considering that he did not even want to accept your notice, I would say it's not your problem that his witness is not available, if you sign this agreement you're essentially letting him dictate how things are going to proceed. Why does he need a witness anyway?
