realprotect vs american modern for landlord insurance

Hi all, Closing my first rental property in NC. I am an out of state investor. I have quotes from realprotect(Norton) $750 for 130k replacement/2500deductible/1Mil liability and $550 from American Modern for $124k/2500 deductible /500k liability. Both of them i havent heard off. RealProtect seems from NREIA, and American Modern seems to have very bad reviews.

Bignames, Allstate (requires another auto/home policy), Liberty (required a primary address at NC to cover a rental at NC) didnt work out.

Wanted to know your experience with these Realprotect and American Modern.

Thanks

Rukku.

@Rukmangathan Balakrishnan

I wouldn't rely too much with the online reviews.  No one ever goes online to brag about how good there insurance is, so all you ever see is negative reviews.

Are both offering Replacement Cost and Special form?   That would be a deciding factor.

I would suggest $1M in Liability limits

One thing to note - American Modern is an insurance carrier like All State, State Farm, etc.  Real Protect is not an insurance company, but an insurance program designed for landlords.  They will have 2-3 insurance companies behind the name that are providing coverage.

An insurance program can provide better coverage, but can also be slightly harder to work when there is an issue as there is an extra layer between you and the insurance carrier.
