CA Covid Eviction Moritorium stop Existing Evictions IN PROCESS??

Question !  I have an eviction already in process (tenant has already dragged out for months through Bk filings, etc, etc) and now after 8 months we are getting close to the process being complete.  Does this coronavirus eviction moritorium stop those evictions?

Also, we have another tenant that was give 60 day notice to move.  On day 56 they said they arent moving because of coronavirus, would I be able to proceed eviction here in this case as well as its already an in process thing?

Worth noting, both of these instances are with really bad tenants (not paying, causing damage, overall terrible individuals) so my compassion meter for coronavirus is on a .5 out of 100.

Wouldn't it be much easier for the government to assist with rent payments to tenants that might have been financially affected by covid?Tenant would show proof of hardship, landlord gets paid by govt, mortgages and all other bills gets paid up, etc.

And if you already had an eviction in progress, can actually get it done.

Any reason why govt hasn't done something like this?

Is there something we can do as landlords to propose it?

Yes, they are postponing eviction hearings. Both of your situations would require you to go back to court before being given a writ of restitution, correct? If so looks like you're going to be out of luck here.

@Chris Wolfe if in Ca it won't be easy especially in the big cities. If these are tenants you approved you might want to re-visit your screening process. ;)) I am imagining these are inherited tenants.
