Because of COVID19 lot of tenants r on lay off. my most tenants paid rent for April, But some tenants didn't because off lay off. i don't want to be mean landlord on this tough time, but other side i don't want to spoil my tenants as well and give them chance to take advantage while their income didn't change or hurt due to COVID19. Because i  know that some of them still have job, some r getting paid as a care giver, or some already was on disability or social security. for those income is  not hurt because of COVID19. Best way to know about they really loose job is ask them if they file Unemployment benefit. I want to ask them to send us some proof that they apply for unemployment, so we can confirm that they really lost job and we should give them some break. I just want to know that is it legal to ask, and if yes than what document we can ask them. Your advice or suggestion will help , Thank u
