Is it worth it to be an LLC in ma? What are some pros and cons?

Is it beneficial to become an LLC (business license). I know there are some perks however I wonder if I'll have greater legal responsibility? I own 2 properties in the state of Massachusetts, is it a good idea? Any tips?
