Landlord - Holding Property Title under LLC Question

All,

I am being advised to put my rental property into an LLC to limit Personal Liability.

Would transferring my property title to an LLC while being personally obligated on the mortgage, would that assist me limiting my personal liability? I already have an LLC in NC that I would be utilizing.
