Self Storage Lien Law - MA

Posted

Hi All! I own a small storage facility in Massachusetts and am new to the business. Does anyone know... once I place a lien on a unit for non payment, can I unlock the unit by cutting the lock to see the contents? Of course I wouldn’t take anything out! The auction website asks you to describe contents, but without opening the unit I wouldn’t know.

Thank you for your help!
