Are there restrictions on asking tenants to leave during pandemic
I have tenants whose lease ends May 31,2020 (in a month). I gave them a notice of non-renewal of lease. Last November 2019, tenants agreed that they have to vacate the property this summer for owners to renovate the property due to safety reasons — property is an old house that may collapse anytime (foundation is not good).
However, after tenants receive the notice of non-renewal of lease, they decline to leave due to pandemic.
Should I prioritize their safety from pandemic or safety of them being in the rental property. I worry that they may sue me if I make them leave my property during this pandemic. But I also worry about possibilities of them getting into accidents while they leave in my property if I make them stay longer.
My home inspector says that the home may collapse at a certain time due to weak foundation.
