I have a room in my house that is being freed up and I am looking to rent this space. Does anybody have any suggestions when it comes to this?

You could rent it outright Weekly/monthly or use as a short (STR) or medium term rental (MTR). Even in places you wouldn't think there is a demand for STR and owner occupied STR are usually allowed. You could get a handle on what it is like to have a roommate with a STR/MTR because that is kind of what you are getting. If you are close to a school student rentals are an option for 3-9 months. Visiting health professions. List with your local school by the semester or on a visiting nurse site. Students doing internships are always looking for MTR. You have to decide what kind of occupancy you are looking for. This is critical if you live there.
