License needed for Management Property LLC in Texas?

Hello,

I was wondering if someone can tell me if I need a broker license for my Management Property LLC to manage only my own investment property and collect rents in Texas? I understand that I do not need one if the property tile is under the LLC but cannot find an answer if it is under my personal name.

Managing your own property regardless of ownership as an individual or an entity does not require a real estate license.

The entity must select a designated broker who is an officer, manager, or partner of the corporation, LLC, or partnership. The designated broker must be individually licensed as an active Texas real estate broker.

Not legal advice, but usually if its your own property and you control it thru the operating agreement for the LLC, in OR, not an issue.

As far as charging for doing for unrelated parties, you're supposed to have a license, but it'd be complaint driven - The owner would complain to the state REA.

Think the biggest issue would be you have a tenant issue and you do something not legal and they find out you're not licensed.
