Settlement and Plumbing Concerns

Hi All,

I am under contract on a property in Jacksonville, FL and there are a few concerns I have now that inspection has been completed. The inspector noted that this property has a settlement concern with a few cracks in the brick above one of the doors. This house was built in the 50's and also has cast iron piping. After talking with a plumber that I know very well, it sounds like the biggest concern here is if the house is in fact shifting, the piping could be at risk. He also told me that running a scope in many cases in inconclusive; they cannot see through the murk and other grime to determine if there are any issues with the pipes in the house. I am thinking that it would be wise for me to have a structural engineer investigate the settlement. I have provided a picture of the horizontal cracking for reference. Any opinions/ feedback on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

-Adam

@Adam M. based on the photo I am not seeing anything unexpected for a 1950's construction. All the best!
