Tree Guy Put A Hole In My Roof

Yep......just what the title says. I'm having a tree removed from one of my properties and the tree company accidentally dropped a limb which hit the roof and made what he described as a "hole" in the roof.  I'm literally omw to the house now to see it for myself.  From the pic he sent me it looks like a deep dent in the shingles, but he's calling it a hole, so I'm going with that.  My question is,  what now???  He offered to "run to Lowes to get what he needs in order to fix it" but somehow I don't think that's the correct answer.  I've never had to file an insurance claim or anything like that ever in my life, and I'm a fairly new investor,  so new territory here.  Grateful for any guidance on this.  I literally do not know what next steps to take.

Thanks

Wait til you get there and see the damage.  If you are able to access the attic, you can see if from the underside and get a better idea of the damage.  See if he will pay for a roofer to come and fix that spot.  That's your best bet.
