What's should my water bill be?

I see all these estimations and property calculations for 4 units that have an annual water bill of 1500$. Meanwhile my 3 unit has a 900$ sewer and water bill this month for the past 2 months!

What am I missing?

This really depends on location and water utility, I have two units that use like $50 worth of water per month each but that could just be a favorable utility, people conserve more when they pay the utilities, but at that rate I'd be looking for a leak.

A culprit I'm cognizant of is the toilet overflow tube and fill valve. I check it every month I inspect the unit. This is a case of either angry tenant or number of residents. I'm weary of evicting right now as I've already a few tenants who are in the eviction process during covid and unable to get any progress on that front.

Comparatively, 3 of my units with a total of 7 residents generate a 200$ water+sewer bill, billed every 2 months. Where as the 900$ water bill in question consists of 16 residents. 8 of which live in one apartment. All within the same block. Yeah I know.... I know...

@Hung A Nguyen are they on the same area? number of people in each unit? these are just a few things you need to consider. Also, @Aaron K.. said something about leakage. you might wanna check that too.

It really depends on your local rates and usage.  I'll give you an example. I have to houses of similar size, close to each other, but water is handled by two different companies.  One never goes over the base amount and they pay $20 a month.  The other is about $80 a month.  They have similar usage, but the minimum amount included in the base rate is much lower so they go over because of the lower base.

I have a duplex with 4 tenants and the water bill is roughly $100 for 2 months.  I imagine that mine is pretty cheap but $900??? That seems outrageous!  Yes.....I think you better look for a bad leak or some tenants that are really mad at you? :(
