Advice for out of state property managers

Relatively new to real estate investing, and for the most part it has been okay. Although, recently I am having some issues with an out of state property. I am extremely busy, and RE investing was a means to make some passive income. So, I had a property manager that was okay, made payments on time for a while, but one day it stopped, and I had a hard time contacting that company. Every time I contact this person, it's one excuse after another.

I was wondering if anybody had issues like this with an out of state PM, and what they did to correct the situation.
