If stated in our lease, can we require no smoking inside our home or on our property? Can we use this when we are screening our tenants?

Yes smokers are not a protected class and you have the right to say that you will not rent to them.

I saw you had a couple of discrimination questions so here is a link to the HUD fair housing site that may help http://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/program_offices/fair_housing_equal_opp/FHLaws/yourrights
