Lived at my Grandma's

I am looking for answer's and appreciate any given.  My mom took care of my grandmother we live on her property and did the whole time well she past away does that mean my mom has to pay rent when the property is already payed for clean and clear. She pays for all the other bills and utility. Thank you!
