Out-of-State Landlord using agent in eviction court?

Question

I'm evicting a tenant for non-compliance of the lease terms. However, I'm an out-of-state landlord. I have an agent in state to handle all rental issues for me, and the agent is more knowledgeable about the rental issues than me.

My question is -- when I file eviction to court, can I assign my agent to appear in court on my behalf? Thanks.

If you want this to succeed have a lawyer attend along with your family member. They will know what you need. Your tenant may have a lawyer with them you don't want your team to be sent away tail between their legs.

Not a formal designation.  I just have a family member who lives in state to act as a agent for me, and all tenants contact the agent for any issues.  How do I formally design an agent?

I'll research the county legal process... (you say county, not state, right?)

This is a county-specific question...best case is it's good and they represent you...worst case is the court hearing the case requires you to be present to complete the process...
