Lawn Care & Snow Removal in Rental

Tyler Davis
Posted

Hello all!

I was wondering for your rental properties do you have your tenant's maintain the lawn in the summer and shovel snow/apply salt in winter?

If so, do you offer a discount if the tenant maintains or just put it in the least that it is there responsibility regardless?

Thanks for the advice, have a great day!

EDIT : For Single Family Homes

Yes, almost all tenants on single family homes are responsible for lawn/snow.  Have a very large yard (about 1 acre) that is to much for them so that is done for them but they still do snow.

For 2 or more units you can generally find 1 person to take care of grass.  Snow is a bit to much of a liability so we have a crew take care of that.  Generally over 5 units we do grass as well.
