One of NWA's major challenges is the large number of municipalities with their individual rules, regulations and plans. Groundwork is a NWA based state housing organization working to bring a more strategic approach to our region.

NWA continues to sustain a high level of growth, but it's not really been strategic or coordinated in any way according to Nelson Peacock, CEO of the NWA Council. State legislators and Groundwork recognize this and are planning to build on the progress made in last year's legislative session. Duke will fill us in on what they are discussing for NWA builders/developers. He'll discuss:

  • Streamlining the Development Process
  • Reducing Burdensome Regulations
  • Pre-Approved Building Designs
  • Building Code Refinements
  • Building Momentum for Housing for the 2027 Session

Duke McLartyis Executive Director of Groundwork, an offshoot of the AR Northwest Council working with community partners to develop workable housing solutions that fit the unique needs of each city.
