Here we go . . . this thing is official.

BiggerPockets REI Summit 2012 will be taking place in Denver Colorado at the Colorado Convention Center on March 23-24.

This will be an incredible educational, networking, and dealmaking event, and we promise NO "back of the room" speakers

Please save the dates. We will be putting tickets for sale in the next few days on our conference website:

We will also be keeping you in the loop with the latest developments, including speakers, schedules, events on the website.

Once we place the tickets for sale, please be sure to book your room at the hotel, where we negotiated great rates for you. We will provide a reservation phone number and a link on the conference website where you can book. More details soon . . .

A lot of us keep posting on how POWERFUL this website is. It has nothing to do with the site itself (read the whole posting!) and everything to do with the community that Josh originally created and the users have continued to grow. That community is made up of the REAL LIFE experts. People who are actually doing deals and making things happen. That is why I am really excited to be in Denver and attend this event. I could not care one bit if I get "business" out of it for my company. I am excited to be around REAL investors and actually have a chance to define what a GREAT real estate event should be like. I go to events all over the country and even the world and I can PROMISE you that there is nothing happening out there like this event. It is being put on by real investors and the education is coming from people that are actually doing it - not making money off of speaking.

I've seen the conference website and I am jacked for it. This can really grow into an event that is not only really, really good for education, but it can grow into a crazy good place for networking, team building and finally having fun at an event.

Ok - I'm off my soap box and with 84,000 people having joined this site, even if 1% can attend - that would be an unbelievable chance to start something special for events just like the site is for online.

    Weather is incredibly unpredictable that time of year. Not at all unusual to wake up with six inches of snow only to have it all melted by mid-afternoon. Unlikely to be truly cold for any length of time, though.

    If you do want to hit the slopes on Sunday, conditions should be very good. Still too soon to tell if this will be a good snow year or a thin one, but in any case there should be good snow that time of year. Be warned that traffic out of the mountains on Sunday afternoon/evening can be brutal. I would recommend against booking a flight out Sunday evening unless its very late or you're willing to head downhill about 1:00 or 2:00. There are a bunch of hotels near the airport, so you can stay there and take an early flight.

    Denver is a beautiful town. I would encourage folks to stay and have a look around on Sunday. I can't promise a warm day and blue skys, and it certainly won't be t-shirt weather, but its likely to be nice.

    Jon and Greg - Did you guys both get your confirmations? EventBrite is having some issues and I want to be sure everything is working as far as the customer is concerned. Please let me know that everything went smoothly for you.

    Ok - thanks . . . that's what I needed to know. I'll be talking to their techs tomorrow to rectify that . . . we'll make sure you get a confirmation email from them -- hopefully you'll have it tomorrow.

    Sorry -- I'm sure you can imagine that I'm not happy to hear that we're having a technical issue with our ticket seller on day 1. We'll get it figured out!

    The issue we are having will not prevent you from registering, it just may prevent you from getting an email right away with your event ticket, but please know that we will make sure that is handled.

    Hi Josh, FANTASTIC! I’m looking forward to being there… The catch is I’m in Afghanistan and I’m not sure if I will be home in time (fingers crossed). If I don’t get a redeployment date before the conference I will ask my command for leave so I can attend. Any teasers on what the conference will have in store for us BP fans? Personally I would like to hear a lecture from someone who has first hand information on the banks so called “shadow inventory” . This is a key point in my decision making process. Will the banks release more properties in to the market or will they continue to hold onto these non performing assets? I’m sure they have a plan and a formula, I want their inside scoop.

    Would really have liked to attend this - my calendar already has a daughter coming to visit us from 23-30 march for spring break. I was hoping it would be more towards the end of June as would be passing through Denver during that time frame. Hope everyone takes some good notes and will post for those not able to attend in person.

    The amount of available tickets at the reserve price went from a low number back to a higher number, is there a glitch with this too? Trying to plan some things before I purchase.

    Terry - It looks like the system has corrected itself. The numbers that are showing right now are the correct ones. I hope that everything continues to work properly -- I'm glad to see that we're back in 100% working order.

    Just FYI, it took almost two hours from when I completed payment to getting the email confirmation. So don't fret if you don't get the confirmation instantly.
