Here we go . . . this thing is official.

BiggerPockets REI Summit 2012 will be taking place in Denver Colorado at the Colorado Convention Center on March 23-24.

This will be an incredible educational, networking, and dealmaking event, and we promise NO "back of the room" speakers

Please save the dates. We will be putting tickets for sale in the next few days on our conference website:

We will also be keeping you in the loop with the latest developments, including speakers, schedules, events on the website.

Once we place the tickets for sale, please be sure to book your room at the hotel, where we negotiated great rates for you. We will provide a reservation phone number and a link on the conference website where you can book. More details soon . . .

A lot of us keep posting on how POWERFUL this website is. It has nothing to do with the site itself (read the whole posting!) and everything to do with the community that Josh originally created and the users have continued to grow. That community is made up of the REAL LIFE experts. People who are actually doing deals and making things happen. That is why I am really excited to be in Denver and attend this event. I could not care one bit if I get "business" out of it for my company. I am excited to be around REAL investors and actually have a chance to define what a GREAT real estate event should be like. I go to events all over the country and even the world and I can PROMISE you that there is nothing happening out there like this event. It is being put on by real investors and the education is coming from people that are actually doing it - not making money off of speaking.

I've seen the conference website and I am jacked for it. This can really grow into an event that is not only really, really good for education, but it can grow into a crazy good place for networking, team building and finally having fun at an event.

Ok - I'm off my soap box and with 84,000 people having joined this site, even if 1% can attend - that would be an unbelievable chance to start something special for events just like the site is for online.

    Wow over 50 people submitted to speak at this event?? That is a bunch.

    I know for commercial real estate with NAR they used to do conventions but for years we have done virtual ones.You sign on and can go to different speakers on subjects and then click on vendors (of your choice and when you want to) and then there is a virtual conference room.

    It engages a bunch of people who could not make the conference because of timing or cost constraints.

    Will you be filming this event and the speakers??

    Joel - We haven't yet decided on whether or not there will be any form of Virtual ticket, though it is likely.

    Josh if you need a bit on marketing let me know. Afterall getting the phone to ring is one of the keys. And I promise not to mention yellow letters.

    Outlining prospect groups and tools to find them could be beneficial. Not to mention presentation and talking to sellers.

    Having a layout for exactly how to handle seller objections could help as well.

    Ibrahim and others -- the hotel rate issue has been rectified. There was a miscommunication at the hotel, but everything should be set. The group rate we negotiated is good for I believe 2 days before and 2 days after the event, so it provides a great opportunity to check out Denver for a pretty good rate.

    I forgot to add that we've got another awesome speaker committed -- Jim Simcoe. Jim is one of the smartest guys around when it comes to Green Real Estate. Jim has some awesome strategies for increasing your profits and margins through green strategies.

    The list is getting pretty awesome!

    Make sure you lock those early bird tickets in!

    I agree - the list is SERIOUS and Green real estate is one of those areas I'm looking to explore.

    Do I need to call the hotel for anything or did they automatically readjust my rates?

    Ibrahim - They will correct any reservations that were made under the wrong rate -- supposedly they are working on that now. Definitely feel free to call them and talk to them. No problem at all on clearing it up -- trust me -- I was NOT happy when I got your message yesterday, but the hotel has been fantastic to work with, despite the few hiccups.

    Josh- Thanks for getting the Hotel confusion fixed. I'll book mine today.Surprising that more members aren't interested in this seminar so far. I've spoken and attended others that cost a heckofa lot more and were only preparatory seminars to getting more of your money later. As one of the speakers at this one, I assure you that great value will be had by all.Rich

    Rich, I'm really looking forward to the summit, but most of all, I'm excited about meeting and learning from those members who I feel like I already know from BP but haven't actually met, such as yourself.

    I'm certain as the date gets closer, we'll see a big push for tickets.

    Wisdom will be so thick you can cut it with a knife!

    I just locked in another fantastic speaker for the event, Clint Coons. Clint is a real estate investor and attorney who regularly speaks on asset protection and planning for investors. Clint is a former blogger on the BiggerPockets Blog, and is definitely the real deal!

    Rich - This is going to be 2 days, though if we can pull it off, we're likely to have some kind of evening activity the night of the 22nd --once we work out the details, I'll be sure to share.

    I want to be able to have as much info available by Christmas time so people can buy their spouses the best gift possible this year -- a ticket to the BiggerPockets Summit! ;)

    Sherry - Got your PM. We've had 3 people register since your message, so it looks like things are working. I spoke with the folks at EventBrite and they tell me they aren't aware of any issues on their end. If your issues persist, call them at 800-350-8850 and let them know you're having issues registering for the BiggerPockets REI Summit event and they should be able to help you through them.

    Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do on my end since we're using their platform.

    I apologize for the frustration and hope we can get it sorted out for you.

    Some news . . .
    We've brought Jason Berman (former Director at Colorado Assn. of Mortgage Brokers and creator of the Mortgage Tech Summit) on as a speaker/moderator for a panel/discussion about investor financing options.

    In addition, I've brought in some excellent outside help to our conference team --> Pamela Vaughter (former Program Communications Coordinator, Conventions for National Association of Realtors), who will help me and our intern Shawn Patton as we proceed with the planning of the event.

    BTW - only 7 hours remain for the discounted tickets . . .
