Is there such a thing as a comfortable sofa bed?

Hi all-

Need to buy a sofa bed to add some extra heads in our place. Is there such a thing as a comfortable sofa bed? What would you recommend?

 Or a regular bed mattress to put on top of the sofa bed mattress.  I pack refinery contractors into houses with this method.
