This is what newbie STR hosts don't want...
Last night I got an email (actually 2 different ones) from people wanting to rent a STR of mine. We have a policy that states they must book the places at least 2 days in advance (which everyone should have IMHO). They were both local (huge warning sign).
And even though they were asking to be approved, they wanted the address of our place up front...before their request was approved.
Of course I declined both requests.....huge warning flags for me.....

Completely agree with that, I’ve “declined” more than one inquiry for those as well. We book primarily through Airbnb, so need to be creative when declining. Have been known to send a special offer for a one night $5,000 stay for a 800 sqft unit LOL… since guest declines don’t affect ratings.
