STR in Desert Hot Springs
Hello!
I am looking to invest in a STR in Desert Hot Springs, CA and I noticed there were 100 new STR listings in DHS from March '22 to April '22 according to AirDNA. Does anyone know why the sudden increase? Would this scare you away from the market with all the new competition? I would assume that occupancy rates and price per nights are going to drop drastically due to the new competition.

What are the regulations in Desert Hot Springs? I assumed there was a moratorium on permits like Palm Springs, but that might be a bad assumption. Potential returns look decent …
PS- the jump you saw could be some sort of hotel/ multi unit property coming online. If it’s a hotel, it prob won’t compete with homes w multiple bedrooms .. worth digging into
