seperate email for rentals?

Question

Should I create a separate email for my rental account to add to rental sites and communicate with clients? I'd like multiple users(maybe up to 3) to be able to log into this to answer questions, is this a good idea?

Here is one free idea.

Gmail ignores any words after + in the address.

As an example - if your email is BoonesInc @ gmail.com

You can do:

BoonesInc+House1 @ gmail.com

BoonesInc+House2 @ gmail.com

BoonesInc+House3 @ gmail.com

Then all emails can all be checked from one mailbox and you can categorize/label by name.

I use a business email (custom domain) through Google Workspace.  https://workspace.google.com/p...

chris @ mycompany.com looks more professional than "@ gmail.com" personally

Also note another trick, periods before the "@" are ignored in Gmail addresses so

chris @ gmail.com

ch.ris @ gmail.com

c.hris @ gmail.com

Will all go to the same address account (first above)

Useful for things like Zelle where you can only have 1 email associated to a single bank account.  With this trick you can use the same inbox for multiple bank accounts.

The "+" trick mentioned above is for auto-adding labels/tags to your emails in Gmail

Absolutely correct.  The same feature applies if you want a paid option.  Purchase a domain and google workspace.

I say yes. I have seen some individuals create emails for their house search alone, so for a continuous use for rentals, personally I vote that it's never a bad idea! My personal email is strictly for personal accounts and the junk mail that accumulates through subscriptions. Easy to lose important emails from contractors, tenants, etc.

Hi @Stephanie Boone! I believe once you purchase the domain name through Google Workspace you can create as many different emails as you want. So if you have multiple houses, you can create an email address for each one:

"House1 @ yourcompany.com"

"House2 @ yourcompany.com

Etc. Hope this helps

You can make a new email for your other users to be able to login to and forward those emails to your primary or any other emails so you know all the activity and dont have to give private information to other users. I do this with my agent email provided to my company. I wanted to collect the data from the companys crm but dont want to use an email with many periods.

I agree with this - its a very small investment/work to get a business domain nowadays but the return in making you look more professional (vs. a gmail account) is important
