baluster Spacing over 4"

Jake Chial
Posted

I purchased a house a few months ago. I'm just about done and getting it ready to list. The last thing I was debating about is the baluster spacing. Back when the house was built it was up to code at 6". Mine measure at about 5.5"s. Question is, do most of you leave it when renting out your place? Or get it up to code?

Thanks

Technically I believe you're covered if there is an accident because they were correct at the time they were installed. I would personally feel better if they were at 4" though, particularly if there will be small kids as renters. You might call your Insurance Company and just ask them.....

Are they wood or metal?
